Editor's note Vol. 1

Volume 1: Editor’s note

This current issue of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Law Review is particularly a very significant one in two ways. In the first analysis, the scholarships covered under this issue cut across contemporary, nascent and recondite areas of law, from the world of football, aviation and banking industry to policies and intense political issues bedeviling most countries of the world. The federal government of Nigeria has, as a point of fact, further reinforced the timeliness of this issue with its recent signing of the Finance Act, 2020 into Law. While the finance Act on one hand is particular about the aviation industry exempting commercial airline tickets from tax in order to stabilize cost; the Act on the other hand introduces a controversial issue of a political nature which gives the federal government right to compulsorily acquire private funds of unclaimed dividends or dormant account without the due process of law. Thus, with its simple language and awe brilliance, the congruence of scholarships in this issue in its entirety will certainly provide all its readers a foundational guide into the hot button and cutting-edge areas of law; and make it worth the while.

Being part of the first volume of the NAULR publications, this issue significantly prides itself as one of the break through indicators of the Review. Since the founding of the Review in 2019, it has been a complete mix of pure hardwork, huge sacrifice and utmost excellence in propelling the Review to becoming one of the foremost law student journals. As part of the Review’s aims to encourage legal writing and research among students, one student-written article is mandatorily expected to be published in each issue.

As a final note, I utterly wish to express my immense appreciation to all the contributors of this journal, persons whose sheer excellence, diligence and intellectual sagaciousness are replete all this issue; I say thank you for giving back to the knowledge bank of the legal field! My sincere appreciation also goes to the Vol.1 members of the editorial board for the round-the-clock engagement in the review of the works published in this issue to ensure nothing short of the best is published; your sense of responsibility is simply top-notch! Daalunu, ndi o ga-adiri mma.
